About the RoleWe're hiring a journeyman carpenter who can own skilled scope in occupied homes not a helper, not a lead (yet): a carpenter we can hand a task to and trust the result. The role is hands-on across the full project lifecycle selective demolition through final punch list working alongside our founder on active kitchen, bath, fireplace, and finish carpentry projects.What you'll doRun remodel scope semi-independently: demo through framing, drywall, backer, door/window sets, trim and finish carpentry Work in occupied homes protection, cleanliness, and client courtesy are non-negotiable Log daily progress in our project management system (JobTread) Occasional multi-day travel jobs (paid drive time, mileage, lodging, per diem)What we need to see5+ years of residential remodel carpentry (not just new construction) Framing, drywall, and door-setting you can demonstrate our hiring process includes a paid, half-day hands-on skills assessment, and we mean it Own hand tools, reliable transportation, valid driver's license Comfortable being the only PCI carpenter on siteWhat you get$3040/hr based on demonstrated skill assessed, not negotiated Medical (Kaiser Gold 80) + dental/vision (Guardian), up to 75% employer-paid Paid sick leave, vacation, 7 paid holidays 401(k) eligibility after 6 months Funded NARI Certified Lead Carpenter certification A defined path to Lead Carpenter ($45+/hr) for the right personHow we hire:short phone screen in-person interview paid half-day working assessment on a real task references offer.
